Joselu is the new striker of Real Madrid – Vârful was relegated with Espanyol
Left without Karim Benzema and Mariano Diaz, Real Madrid were desperate for a striker who could be brought in for a small fee.
After long searches, the Madrid players on Monday formalized the transfer of Joselu, brought on loan from Espanyol, a team that was relegated to the second division of Spain.
The 33-year-old striker will play at the Santiago Bernabeu until the summer of 2024, and Real Madrid paid the sum of 500,000 euros for his loan.
If they want to keep him permanently, Real will have to pay a clause of 1.5 million euros.
Joselu made 38 appearances for Espanyol in the recently concluded season, managing to score 17 times for the Catalan outfit.
In March this year, the striker also made his debut for the Spanish national football team, for which he has already scored 3 times in 4 appearances.
Florentino Perez, the president of Real Madrid, confirmed that Joselu is the last transfer that “los blancos” will make this summer.
